Mental Health Recovery Initiative
You CAN RECOVER if you have a serious and persistent mental illness. Recovery means living life to the fullest in spite of your illness. Recovery is a personal, individual journey. No two people "recover alike." Recovery involves much more than Clinical Care, which usually involves seeing a psychiatrist or therapist and taking medication.
There are eight other components of Recovery. Not all components have meaning for all recovering people, but we urge you to consider each of them to see which have meaning for you. The Columbiana County Recovery Initiative has developed activities within each of the components that we invite you to explore by clicking on the links below:
In addition to these nine components of Recovery, research indicates that for many people, developing a healthy sense of spirituality also promotes Recovery.
The Columbiana County Recovery Initiative publishes a monthly newsletter and calendar of events, which are posted on this site. Click on Newsletters & Announcements on the Network of Care homepage to view the newsletter.
